Set booking availability and customer limits

Control operating days, breaks, seasons, booking notice and customer limits.

Availability determines which dates and times customers can select. Configure your regular schedule, exceptions and booking rules for each offering.

Open the settings

Open Storefront → Options → Bookings and select the offering you want to update. For initial setup, see Set up a booking in your storefront.

Choose operating days and hours

  1. Select the days on which the offering is available.
  2. Set the opening and closing times.
  3. Check the time zone shown for the offering.
  4. Save the settings and review the calendar.

Add breaks

Add breaks for lunch, maintenance or other unavailable periods. Set each break’s start and finish and select the applicable day where that option is available. Ensure your available periods can accommodate the chosen booking interval.

For an hourly service operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., a break from noon to 1 p.m. leaves bookable morning and afternoon periods.

Set seasons and closed dates

Set the booking season’s start and end dates. Where multiple seasonal periods are available, add each period and review any gaps. Use locked dates for exceptions such as holidays, regattas or facility closures. Add a reason so your team can identify the closure.

If available, enable automatic archiving when the booking season ends.

Set the booking window and advance notice

The advance booking window controls how far into the future customers can reserve. Advance notice controls how close to a session they may book.

For example, allow bookings up to 30 days ahead while requiring at least 48 hours’ notice. The walkthrough demonstrated notice options of 24, 48 and 72 hours.

Set minimum slots and customer limits

Require a minimum number of time slots when a service needs a longer booking. With a one hour interval, two slots represent two hours.

Set the maximum number of slots per customer and the relevant period, such as day, week, month or year. Review the instructions shown in the form rather than assuming a blank or zero value means unlimited.

What happens to existing bookings?

Changing availability prevents new bookings during restricted periods without automatically cancelling existing reservations. Review existing bookings separately and arrange any necessary changes. See Request or manage a booking change.

Check your settings

Save and compare the manager calendar with the customer calendar. Check season boundaries, breaks, closures and the earliest and latest bookable dates. For unexpected results, see Why is a booking date, time or resource unavailable?.
